China Datang Corporation IT Total Planning and Unified Core Business System Promotion Research Seminar (May, 2009)
Power Industry is the pillar industry of national economy, and plays an important role in the economy development. With the progressing of power system reform the regrouping of two power networks, and five power corporations reforming, the power industry is stepping into a brand new era.
The aim of power system reform is to bring in market competition into power industry, to realize separation of power plants and power transmit, and to turn electricity from product to commodity. This influential reform not only changed the structure of power market, but also changed the value chain, and brings unprecedented opportunity and challenge. Reform initiated competition, which then force power enterprises to think about their management modes. It has been found that IT system, like ERP, SIS, EAM, and CRM, etc., can help power enterprises realize refines, integration of management.
The global finance crisis and cost increase is now posing great challenge for power enterprises. Under this situation, integration operation, management refines, and resources assignment is getting more important. Taking advantage of IT construction to promote management level brings new chance for development of the whole power industry. CDT began IT total planning last year, and organized a series of promotion activities about core business unified system. This promotion research seminar was held in Guangxi, May 18 to May 21, organized by IT management marketing department. Participators mainly consist of three parts: IT construction specialists from corporation, total planning research group, and technicians from corporation HQ.
GM Dong Yongdong of EBT as a member of specialist group, and EBT Power Business Director Lu Jun as a member of total planning research group, participated in the seminar. Representatives from Guangxi Branch and Guiguan Branch made specific report. And research of Longtan, Yatan, and Dahua Hydropower Plants was made on site. This seminar provided IT construction instructions, ways, and directions, and laid fine basis.
